How much do you know about Gimpo City? Hangang New Town brings to mind a place filled with new apartments, thanks to various small-scale residential developments. But a little further in, you'll find yourself surrounded by expansive rice paddies and rural landscapes. In Bukbyeon-dong, where I visited to review Gimpo City, I was able to witness the peaceful atmosphere of the five-day market held in the old downtown area, while behind it, redevelopment projects were underway. From the Aegibong Peace Ecological Park observatory, I could see North Korea's Songaksan Mountain and Propaganda Village. Furthermore, at Daemyeong Port, Gimpo City's only fishing port, I enjoyed a leisurely sunset and shrimp tasting. I was also able to purchase seafood directly from the fish market.
