LA FILLE DU NORD (Hugues Aufray)

"La Fille du Nord" is the French adaptation of Bob Dylan's song "Girl from the North Country." The adaptation was done by Pierre Delanoë and Hugues Aufray, and the song was recorded in 1965 for the album "Aufray chante Dylan." Bob Dylan gave his approval for the adaptation during a stay in Paris in 1963. The original Bob Dylan song dates from 1963 and was inspired by a story told by a Black comedian in Harlem. The story was supposedly inspired by an astronaut who, upon returning from a mission, met God, who turned out to be a Black woman. Bob Dylan gave his approval for the French adaptation during a stay in Paris in 1963.
