Abandoned Amusement Park and Carousel in the Forest

I visit an abandoned amusement park and then an abandoned carousel in the woods. Fun City in Varberg was a moderately popular funfair/fairground, which during the 00s had both a camel park and a water park. But it was poorly managed and fringed by scandals, and soon had to be shut down. In connection with the wave of refugees in the mid-2010s, it served as an accommodation for asylum seekers, but has been completely dismantled since then. Now most of it has been cleaned up and removed, and what hasn't been removed is vandalized. But the scary giant statue of Gargamel (or if it's just some random creepy guy) is still there. A few miles away is another abandoned amusement park, albeit on a much smaller scale. Gunnar's carousel. It was an elderly man named Gunnar Karlsson who, in the early 1970s, built a carousel in the middle of the forest, powered by hydropower from a small stream nearby. 50 years later it still stands, and is in surprisingly good condition considering how much time has passed. But why the carousel was built there in the first place remains a mystery. 0:00 Intro 0:32 Abandoned buildings 5:44 Gigantic creepy statue 7:24 Merry-go-round in the woods #abandoned #urbex Subscribe:    / @mobeltass
