HINDI DIWAS, 2023 Celebration FULL PROGRAMME

Siamliana Memorial School (S.M.S.) was established in the year 2020 with the aim of providing quality education to the children of Mizoram based on the Bible and its teaching as the foundation. The institution has been following the curriculum of the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) since its inception, and therefore, the standard and quality of the teaching and learning materials are at par with schools in other parts of India. In addition, the textbooks for the students at the school were carefully selected by the pedagogy experts and are age-appropriate. As textbooks for the students are procured directly from the publishers, they are not available in the local bookstores. Motto: The school is using "With God all things are possible" from Matthew 19:26 as its motto. Location: The school is located at Tuikual North (Temple to Vaivakawn Road), Aizawl –796001, Mizoram. The school building was formerly occupied by the Govt. Aizawl Law College. WHAT MAKES SIAMLIANA MEMORIAL SCHOOL DIFFERENT? • A strong foundation: It is a well-known fact that a strong foundation in the lower classes plays a vital role in forging life-long learning competencies. Therefore, the school has been doing its best to enable children to be well-prepared and future-ready and to lead them in a progressive and phased manner to derive full advantage of the ICSE. • Academic and Character Building: The school desires to instill in the pupils a life-long, burning passion to learn and grow spiritually. It is one thing to want children to be successful, and quite another to provide the academic and character training to ensure this accomplishment. Godly character training received as part of their learning would prepare pupils to welcome and accept challenges and future opportunities as well as live Godly lives. Moreover, the school environment also helps develop a strong sense of noblesse oblige in the pupils. • Relationship with God: Students’ personal relationship with God and their personal responsibilities to friends, family, church, and community are of the school's primary concern. • Proficiency in English and Hindi: The English language occupies a central place in the school curriculum as it is the medium for learning. Moreover, proficiency in English is a pre-requisite for effective communication and knowledge acquisition. Hindi, the official language and English are like the two sides of a coin as the two are given equal importance in the school. Therefore, the pupils are trained to have proficiency in both English and Hindi. Anyhow, language is an essential tool to comprehend ideas and information, interact socially, inquire into areas of interest and study, and express thoughts and opinions in a clear and fluent manner. Therefore, the school has been trying its best to facilitate the pupils' use of language to express their feelings, ideas, and later, their opinions based on extensive reading and research. • Mastery in Mathematics: Pupils have been trained to have mastery in Mathematics by developing mathematical thinking and problem-solving skills and applying these skills to formulate and solve problems. They would also acquire the necessary mathematical concepts and skills for everyday life and for continuous learning in mathematics and related disciplines. • Training of the future generation: The school would prepare the future generation of learners to meet the challenges of an ever-advancing knowledge-based society and a dynamically changing environment. It is imperative that children are equipped with a repertoire of skills and a positive attitude with a sensitised perspective to become successful citizens in a globally competitive society. • Mentoring Programme: A mentoring programme at the school would provide the necessary counselling and guidance to the pupils to meet their specific needs and requirements. In other words, teachers would take special care of kids with special abilities, talents, or special needs. • Co-curricular Activities: Every activity in school life plays a significant role in the student's development. Co-curricular activities are an essential part of school life and help enhance the learning process of the students. As such, the school is having various co-curricular activities like outings, sports, debate, quizzes, science exhibitions, environmental activities, singing classes, etc. for the benefit of its inmates. • Library: The school library has grown significantly, and its collections of books have been enlarged and enriched. At present, the school has a good volume of books and collections in the library that are available for reading and borrowing.
