酒田市の高校生が乳幼児とふれあい体験

An on-site class was held at a high school in Sakata City, Yamagata Prefecture, where high school students interacted with infants and young children to learn about the joys of child-rearing and the importance of life. This initiative, run by the Sakata Child-Rearing Support Center, aims to help high school students experience the joys of child-rearing and what it feels like to be a parent by interacting with infants and their parents, whom they don't usually have many opportunities to interact with. 2025 will be the 16th year of the program. On September 1st, 64 first-year students from Sakata Koryo High School participated, enjoying the opportunity to play with toys and hold children ranging from one-and-a-half months old to four years old. The students also proactively asked questions to the parents about child-rearing, deepening their understanding. "It was so much fun!" "It made me so happy to hear high school students say, 'How cute! How cute!' about my child." "I don't often have the opportunity to interact with infants, so this was a very valuable experience." "It was so cute to actually touch a baby. I hope to put the knowledge I gained here to good use when I become a mother myself."
