Der Geher in Hamburg: Sternschanze

I am Der Geher and today I'm walking through the Sternschanze district. From the subway Sternschanze along Juliusstraße to the Rote Flora and through the Flora Park. Via Schulterblatt street the path leads to Neuer Pferdemarkt. Beckstraße with residential buildings. The path ends at the subway Feldstraße and the high bunker next to the Millerntor stadium. The smallest district of Hamburg has experienced an eventful history. After a beginning as a defensive fortification, from which the name Sternschanze is derived, residential and commercial areas began to form in the 19th century. Many, even large companies were located here. From the 1970s, numerous families moved away and students took advantage of the proximity to the university. After drug problems in the 90s, companies, cafes and small stores can be found here again today.
