Angry residents of Devki Bihar Colony, Bithoria No. 1, Haldwani, surrounded the councilor on Tuesday after the road was left incomplete with patchwork and fill-up work after the laying of drinking water pipes. Later, the councilor and the people went to the USDA office and demanded the manager repair the broken culvert and complete the unfinished work immediately. Project Manager E. Kuldeep Singh assured that work on the road would begin within three days. After laying the drinking water line in the colony, patchwork and fill-up work was completed on half the road a month ago, but the work was abandoned on the other half. Due to the waterlogging in the dug-up road during the first monsoon rains, residents faced difficulties commuting to their homes. The situation is so bad that people are unable to even park their two-wheelers inside their homes due to the eroded road in front of their gates. The councilor, who arrived on the scene after receiving a complaint, was taken by the residents to inspect the colony's problems. Devki Bihar Vikas Samiti Chairman Ramesh Chandra Pandey stated that the garbage collection vehicle and gas cylinder collection vehicle have been unable to access the Phase 3 colony for the past several months due to a broken culvert. Consequently, residents have to walk long distances to carry garbage to the vehicle, and even more so, transporting cylinders. The collapse of the culvert in Phase 1 colony has created the potential for an accident. After identifying the colony's problems, Councilor Naveen Joshi, Devki Bihar Vikas Samiti Chairman Ramesh Chandra Pandey, and Joint Secretary Bahadur Singh Hardiya met with UUSDA Manager E. Kuldeep Singh and discussed in detail all the problems facing the Devki Bihar colony. The manager assured to complete the patchwork and fill-up work of the road within three days and also to get the culvert repaired soon.
