This spring visit will introduce you to four different beehives: the most common, the Dadant hive; the Nuchette, which is half a Dadant hive; the Trionuc, which uses Dadant super frames; and at the end, the Miniplus, a very small breeding hive with mini supers. Jean-Jacques, a beekeeper since 1976, presents various methods for inspecting production hives and breeding hives like the Miniplus and the Trionuc throughout this video. Every beekeeper has their own methods. It's helpful to learn beekeeping by watching videos, reading books, and most importantly, practicing hive inspections regularly when the weather permits (above 15°C).
