Mavuno Worship Project (MWP) http://www.kenyandownloads.com/Mavuno/ The picture that the rest of the world carries of Africa is one of a lone child extended belly, red rimmed eyes and a stark African landscape behind him. It is a picture, though realistic, is but a fraction of the truth. The phrase T.I.A (This Is Africa) has been used to paint yet another picture of Africa: That of old dictators who have pillaged the continent and sold there remains to the highest bidder; that of rebels who massacre the people ("their people") on the pretext of freedom. This again has some truth to it but is not the entire picture. There is another side to every story told and this is the story that we want to share... Mavuno Church (based at The Dome - Belle-Vue Drive In - Mombasa Road) is part of the Nairobi Chapel Community of churches. The Worship Team, led by Kanjii Mbugua is composed of many fine musicians, who have gained a reputation among the art lovers in the city of Nairobi through various musical events. In February 2007 Mavuno Church put together a spectacular, worship experience dubbed "Unchanging". The theme behind Unchanging was the emphasis that, Christians have their disposal the greatest power ever know and that power is in our unchanging God. It was out of this amazing worship experience, that the idea of sharing T.I.A with the rest of the world was born. We seek to share the other side of the Africa story which says... "There is a renaissance in Africa today... wars are ceasing, dictators are toppling, economies are growing, hope is rising, people are coming together. A creative, young generation is arising that has much to offer not only to Africa, but to the rest of the world in this generation.
