Sipho "Hotstix" Mabuse pays tribute to Abdullah Ibrahim

South Africa and the global jazz community are mourning the loss of legendary pianist and composer Abdullah Ibrahim, who has died at the age of 91. The internationally acclaimed jazz icon passed away peacefully in Germany following a short illness, surrounded by family. Over a career spanning more than 70 years, Ibrahim became one of the world's most influential jazz musicians, taking the sounds and spirit of South Africa to audiences across the globe. He leaves behind a musical legacy that will continue to inspire generations around the world.
