Besides the Soviet Union, it was also produced under license in India, Iraq, Poland, Czechoslovakia, and Yugoslavia. It's no exaggeration to say that development of this legendary vehicle began in the mid-1950s, and it wasn't until the distant 1970s that it entered production. But the designers nailed it! Because the tank's intended use, chosen as a basis even at the initial design stage, proved to be the right one for the long term! The layout, proportions, armor, dimensions, automatic loader, and even the engine and chassis are perfectly in line with modern trends and the current rules of war. They're probably better than any other tank in the world today! Time has shown and proven this. Moreover, the "Seventy-Two" possesses a truly inexhaustible potential for all sorts of upgrades without significant design changes, ensuring that this tank has always remained well-protected and has become increasingly dangerous, making it "out of reach" for any potential enemy!
