Afghanistan : la faillite de la guerre high-tech
Since 2001, the American army has carried out an unprecedented deployment of force in Afghanistan. The Kandahar base alone brings together 40,000 men who live in a closed environment in a veritable small fortified city. To hold the ground, the US Army has sophisticated electronic surveillance means. The time has come for high-tech conflict, which limits losses. But this war of the third millennium, which is costly, also reveals the relative impotence of the Pentagon. Washington's strategists have not managed to defeat the Taliban, even though they are mainly armed with Kalashnikovs and small homemade bombs. Once again, a Western army is held in check by a guerrilla movement of partisans. Directed by Patrick Forestier
