الصحفي الأمريكي كارلسون في مقابلته الشهيرة مع السفير الأمريكي هوكابي حشر بذكاء الأخير في الزاوية وأغضبه وهو يحاول أن يفهم منه من أين تنطلق إسرائيل في حق وجودها وهل تستند بذلك لحق قانوني أو توراتي وهل لجميع الدول الأخرى الحق في الوجود مثلها السفير لم يعط جوابا صريحا وحاول المراوغة لأنه يعلم أنه إذا أجاب بنعم، فهذا يدمّر فكرة الحق التوراتي الذي تزعم إسرائيل أنه يمنحها الحق في معظم الدول الشرق الأوسط
