【山形／観光名所】米沢城跡と上杉神社／上杉謙信が祀られる城跡 - Yonezawa Castle and Uesugi Shrinein YAMAGATA, JAPAN -

米沢市街地の中心部にある米沢城跡には、現在上杉神社が鎮座しています。この上杉神社には、米沢上杉家藩祖の上杉謙信が祀られています。 「なせば成る、なさねば成らぬ何事も、成らぬは人のなさぬなりけり」 でお馴染みの上杉鷹山が藩主を務めた城跡でもあります。 私の格言でもあるこの名言を残した鷹山公に会いに米沢を訪れた映像です。 戦国時代、この地は伊達氏の本拠地であり伊達政宗が誕生した地でもあります。 会津へ越後国より上杉景勝が入封した際、直江兼続がここ米沢城主となりました。 関ヶ原の戦いの敗戦後は、減封された上杉家は、この米沢城へ居城を移すこととなります。以後、明治維新まで米沢藩上杉氏の居城でした。 現在、米沢城と上杉神社は、有名人気戦国武将との関わりの深さから、武将たちを偲ぶ歴史ファンが集う観光名所となっています。 米沢城跡は、2017年に続日本100名城に選定。 続日本百名城／別表神社／山形県米沢市 ____________________________________________________ At the site of Yonezawa Castle in the center of downtown Yonezawa, the Uesugi Shrine now stands. When Uesugi Kagekatsu arrived in Aizu from Echigo, Naoe Kanetsugu became the lord of Yonezawa Castle. After the defeat at the Battle of Sekigahara, the Uesugi clan was reduced in size and moved their residence to Yonezawa Castle. After that, it was the residence of the Uesugi clan of the Yonezawa domain until the Meiji Restoration. Today, Yonezawa Castle and Uesugi Shrine are tourist attractions where history buffs gather to remember the warlords due to their close relationship with the popular warlords. The ruins of Yonezawa Castle were selected as one of Continued the 100 best castles in Japan in 2017.
