His awards include: ICO Excellence in DP Award winner 2020, the NHS SIGN IG Professional of the Year Award 2021, named an IRMS Fellow, and recognized with the AMIRMS & Life Time Achievement 2020 (https://irms.org.uk/page/PastWinners) .  Barry entered the privacy world as the Data Protection Act (https://www.gov.uk/data-protection) was passed and was a nurse at the time.
