1971-Bobby Murcer on "Beat The Clock" (1st)

-Here's something that crosses over between my interests in baseball and game shows! Bobby Murcer, following his 1971 season when he hit .331 for the Yankees (falling just short in the batting title race) appears for a week of episodes on "Beat The Clock" hosted by Jack Narz (Narz would later be replaced by announcer Gene Wood). Unlike the big-money 1950s version of the show, this 1969-74 revival of "Beat The Clock" was a low-key low-budget affair taped in Montreal with low-cash prize stakes. Each week of five shows would have a celebrity player to help the two teams of couples who would participate in the stunts. -I have two episodes from this week that I taped off GSN in 1997.
