The video begins with blue skies streaked with cirrus as clouds build vertically in unpredictable bursts. By mid‑afternoon, a massive supercell erupts across the river in Iowa, rising rapidly into the upper cloud layer. Low‑level clouds briefly clear before another wave of high clouds rolls in, creating an eerie stillness. To the east, more storms explode upward, while the northwestern horizon darkens with thick, menacing cloud bases. This wave passes quietly overhead but intensifies dramatically as it moves east. Rain begins as a powerful supercell detonates just south of the camera’s view, pulling in air and kicking up wind. At sunset, the sky turns surreal — orange to the west, deep purple to the east — with flashes of lightning from the storm slipping past into Iowa after dark. Late that night, new storms fire to the north and east, lighting up the sky with distant lightning while conditions remain calm here. The storms drift eastward, their flashes silhouetted against the glowing dawn. Morning brings thinning high clouds and another hot, unstable afternoon with hazy cirrus wisps against an azure sky.
