2026 Monterey Jazz Next Generation Women in Jazz Combo at Berklee College of Music, 1.16.26

Monterey Jazz Festival's Next Generation Women in Jazz Combo was created in 2019 to feature top high school women jazz players from throughout the United States. Directed by award-winning bassist, vocalist and composer Katie Thiroux, ensemble members are selected on set criteria through video auditions. The group has performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Jazz Education Network Conference, and Berklee College of Music where they have workshopped with Terri Lyne Carrington, Kris Davis, and Sheryl Bailey at the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice. The 2026 Next Generation Women in Jazz Combo members were invited to Berklee College of Music January 14-17. They participated in a series of educational activities including workshops, performances, and auditions on the Berklee College campus.
