I Walked Into a FAKE Mine Scam

What started as a blue moonstone mine tour in the South of Sri Lanka soon turned in to a major tourist scam. When a subscriber contacted me and proposed me to tour around Hikkaduwa with his uncle I thoughtm why not and agreed to it. We went to moonstone and gem palace in Meetiyagoda to do what afterwards felt like a fake mine tour. The mines didn't really look like they were used. Also the whole operation seemed a bit too perfect to be real. Nonetheless I enjoyed a tour, bought some cinnamon leaf oil and then went into their jewelery shop. There I was shown products of in the thousands of dollars, including one necklace of 45,000 USD. When I finally agreed to buy something I got seriously overcharged, I found this out only later and because of that I decided to investigate a bit more and confront the Scam Palace. ___________________________________________________ With my Youtube videos I aim to show a different perspective than what most travel vloggers would do by interacting with people and really getting the local insights of the places I visit.
