Part 7 of "China Today 1990" takes us on a magnificent boat ride down the amazing man-made Grand Canal all the way from bustling Wuxi to wonderful Suzhou, superbly sited on the awesome Yangtze delta. Astounding vistas of life on the busy Grand Canal before reaching Suzhou, which is far-famed for it's ancient culture and as a thriving centre of silk weaving, embroidery and the arts, plus the home of truly amazing traditional gardens - all of which provide great subjects for my camcorder to show a gentle and culture-rich way of life in beautiful Suzhou 22 years ago.
