A new audio recording released by Panorama implicates the current Minister of Justice, Juan José Santiváñez, by revealing that he requested the intervention of the then Minister of Justice, Eduardo Arana—now Prime Minister—on behalf of his client, Miguel Marcelo Salirrosas, alias "El Diablo," accused of being a member of the criminal organization "Los Pulpos" in Trujillo. The conversation, recorded in September 2024, took place in Juan José Santiváñez's own office, when he was still Minister of the Interior.
