The Split ferry port is the largest passenger seaport in Croatia and considered the 3rd busiest port on the Mediterranean. It has lines connecting Split with the rest of Croatia like Dubrovnik, Rijeka and the islands as well as international routes to Ancona and Pescara in Italy. The Split ferry port is easily accessible by all kinds of transportation - both the train station and the main bus station are located in the port area. The Eastern part of the city's harbor attracts a large number of visitors due to the vicinity of the city center - the historical part of the town and the big open market. Split is the main base of catamaran connections in Central Dalmatia. The islands of Brač, Hvar, Šolta and Čiovo are situated in front of Split and are connected with frequent catamaran lines and car ferry lines.
