According to Paolo, Giorgia's constantly apprehensive and "castrating" attitude is having a negative and counterproductive effect on her relationship with Nicola. If it were up to him, Paolo would never scold Nicola; on the rare occasions when it happens, he does so only to try to support his wife, almost violating his own will. Complicating matters is little Dario, who already seems to be following in his brother's footsteps, and whose needs are completely neglected by his father, who clearly favors his eldest son. This also causes constant arguments between Paolo and Giorgia.
