Konnichiwa Japan | Travel Vlog Day 1 | Tokyo Arrival, Shibuya Crossing, Mt Fuji Flight Views 🇯🇵
Our journey began from Kolkata with a flight to Singapore. What was supposed to be a comfortable layover quickly turned into a race against time as our first flight was delayed. The delay shortened our connection time significantly, and the moment we landed in Singapore, we found ourselves rushing through one of the world's busiest airports to catch our next flight. Thankfully, we made it just in time and settled into our seats for the long journey to Tokyo. Little did we know that one of the highlights of the day was still waiting for us above the clouds. As the aircraft cruised towards Japan, a familiar silhouette slowly appeared outside the window. Standing proudly above the clouds was the legendary Mount Fuji. Seeing Japan's most iconic mountain for the very first time from 35,000 feet felt surreal and instantly made the journey even more special. 💡 Pro Tip: If you're flying into Tokyo, try booking seats on the LEFT side of the aircraft. On a clear day, you'll have a much better chance of spotting Mount Fuji during the approach. After landing in Tokyo, the reality finally sank in—we had arrived in Japan! Our first task was getting connected and ready for the trip ahead. We purchased a Welcome Suica card, one of the most convenient ways to travel across Japan's extensive transport network. The card can be purchased using both cash and card, making the process quite simple. We also bought a physical SIM card at the airport, a decision we later regretted. 💡 Pro Tip: Airport SIM cards are usually much more expensive than those available in the city. If possible, wait until you reach the city centre before purchasing one. Since we had pre-booked Limited Express tickets for our Mount Fuji journey the following day, we decided to collect them immediately from the airport. 💡 Pro Tip: If your itinerary includes any reserved trains or attraction tickets that require physical collection, try collecting them on Day 1 itself. It saves both time and stress later in the trip. With all the essentials sorted, we boarded our first train in Japan and headed towards our hotel, Toyoko Inn Tawaramachi. Even the train ride felt exciting as we got our first glimpse of Tokyo's orderly streets, spotless stations, and efficient public transport system. After a short rest, it was finally time to experience one of Tokyo's most famous landmarks—Shibuya Crossing. Known as the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world, Shibuya Crossing is far more than just an intersection. Every time the traffic lights turn red, thousands of people move across the crossing from every direction, creating a perfectly synchronized chaos that somehow works flawlessly. Surrounded by giant digital screens, neon advertisements, and towering buildings, it perfectly captures the energy and spirit of modern Tokyo. Naturally, crossing it once wasn't enough. We crossed it multiple times, soaking in the atmosphere and watching the endless flow of people from every corner of the world. To see it from a completely different perspective, we visited MAGNET by SHIBUYA109, which we had pre-booked through Klook. The rooftop viewing deck offers an incredible bird's-eye view of the crossing below. Watching the sea of people move beneath the bright city lights was one of those travel moments that photos simply cannot fully capture. The evening continued with a bit of shopping at Daiso, where it's impossible to leave empty-handed. From travel essentials to unique Japanese finds, every aisle seemed to have something interesting. By then, hunger had taken over, and we found ourselves at a local ramen shop. What followed was one of the best meals of the entire trip—a steaming bowl of rich and flavorful Tonkotsu Ramen paired with an ice-cold Coke. Sometimes the simplest meals end up becoming the most memorable. In the next episode, we leave Tokyo behind and head towards one of Japan's most iconic destinations as we explore the breathtaking region around the Great Mount Fuji. 🗻 Japan Web for Immigration - [https://services.digital.go.jp/en/vis...] Klook Link for Magnet by Shibuya 109 - [https://www.klook.com/en-IN/activity/...] ESim - [https://www.nomadesim.com/] Hotel - Toyoko Inn Ueno Tawaramachi-eki 💬 Want our complete Japan itinerary?
