🕰 Lower Silesia 1945 – when worlds intertwined... It was the end of one era and the beginning of a new one. Poles, Germans, and Russians met in Lower Silesia. 📍 It is estimated that in the first months of 1945 there were: 🇩🇪 approximately 3–3.5 million Germans, 🇵🇱 several hundred thousand Poles, mainly forced laborers and camp prisoners, who were regaining their freedom, 🔥 Over 1 million Red Army soldiers, rolling through the region on their way to Berlin. Some rejoiced because they had survived the hell of captivity and regained hope. Others were dying from fear of the revenge they could not avoid. And thirds went to meet justice, carrying in their hearts the anger for years of murder, plunder, and degradation. In Lower Silesia in 1945, worlds collided, the old vanishing in flames, and the new emerging in chaos.
