The complete ghazal is as follows: دل پھر طوافِ کووے ملامت کو جائے ہے دیکھنا کہ کون نالۂ دِیگر کو جائے ہے عرضِ جاں کہہ دوں کہ آبِ فراق ستم ہے تم ہمارے نہیں تو کیا گمانِ غمِ دُوا ہے خموشی کو ہم نہیں پسند کہ دل کو اور بھی خود خراشی کے سوا کچھ تاثر نہیں آتا بھلا کیا ہو جو نہ دِل میں بُت نہ سنگِ درد نہ پرستِ خدائے دوئے ناز کا اعتقاد Translation: My heart again circles the lanes of blame To see who else is lamenting the same. My life I'd tell you is a torment of despair If you don't belong to me, then how could you care? Silence doesn't suit me, for it brings me no relief Except to scratch my own wounds, bringing me more grief. What good's a heart, without a statue or stone of pain? Without belief in a god, without faith in a drug that can sustain?
