Jean Ziegler bei Schawinski - Schawinski vom 14. März 2016

Jean Ziegler had close contacts with the PLO. In 1970, he allegedly introduced them to the Federal Council so that a ceasefire agreement could be negotiated with the Palestinian Liberation Organization. How did this come about? More about the program: http://www.srf.ch/sendungen/schawinsk... The book "Swiss Terror Years" has been a source of heated debate since its publication at the beginning of the year. According to "NZZ" reporter and author Marcel Gyr in the book, then-SPD Federal Councilor Pierre Graber single-handedly concluded a secret agreement with the Palestinian Liberation Movement (PLO) in 1970. When Pierre Graber sought contact with the PLO, Switzerland was gripped by the Zerqa crisis. Palestinian liberation fighters had hijacked three planes into the Jordanian desert, including a Swissair plane. A few months earlier, a bomb had exploded in the cargo hold of a Swissair Coronado. The plane crashed in Würenlingen in the canton of Aargau, killing 47 people. Jean Ziegler, who maintained close friendships with the Palestinian elite, appears as a key witness in the book. He is said to have facilitated contact between the then Foreign Minister and PLO leaders, who then negotiated the secret deal. What did sociology professor Jean Ziegler know about this agreement? Why did he remain silent for so long? And what is his general view of the world, Europe, and the refugee crisis? Roger Schawinski asks. ----- 👉 If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to contact us via SRF Customer Service. We look forward to your feedback: https://www.srf.ch/hilfe/kontakt
