A Vedic Alternative to Darwin's Theory with Michael Cremo

Michael Cremo is coauthor, with Richard Thompson, of Forbidden Archeology: The Hidden History of the Human Race. He is also author of Human Devolution: A Vedic Alternative to Darwin's Theory. Here he points out that the Vedic cosmology of ancient India resembles scientific thinking in that it dates the universe in terms of billions of years. He suggests that conscious selves, including humans and animals, entered into earthly bodies that were prepared for them by advanced beings of higher awareness. He describes the differences between Advaita and Dvaita forms of Vedanta. His approach is of the Dvaita school, maintaining that the individual self is not identical with the supreme self of all universes.
