CVI Visual Behaviors: Impact of Color
CVI, a brain-based visual impairment, is the leading cause of childhood blindness. Individuals with CVI tend to display visual behaviors. What is the Impact of Color? -Individuals with CVI may have a favorite brightly-saturated color that elicits visual attention and/or serves as a support for visual recognition. -They rely on color to identify objects. -They may find objects based on color in clutter and at distance (visual attention and visual recognition). -Color can support visual attention and recognition At Perkins, we synthesize literature and current research to better understand and expand upon our understanding of CVI, so all children with CVI are able to be fully understood.
