I abandoned the main road and took village roads... but things didn't go as planned. I lost my bearings numerous times, unable to find a single market or grocery store for miles. With hunger and exhaustion at their peak, an invitation from a home was the greatest gift of the day. I sat down at the table of a family I'd never met. The warm hospitality of the people of the Southeast touched my heart once again. The road can sometimes lead to losses, but it also introduces the most wonderful people.
