My first ever new Pickerings lift

When looking for lifts, you are far more likely to find a 60s Pickerings than a modern day one. (and 60s pickerings are not at all common. many have been replaced). Pickerings are really not doing very well. All the time I have been riding lifts, this is the first time I have came across a new Pickerings. and it is not great. Pickerings are one of the very few small lift companies that are not generic. Over the years Pickerings has not used much in the way of brought in parts. In the 60s Pickerings were awesome, their lifts used pickerings' own buttons, and they had very nice design with carpeted walls. In the present day Pickerings have really let them selfs go. They install a fraction of the amount of lifts that they used to. And this modern Pickerings is not all that good (but its better than a generic) This lift has a horrid generic sounding voice. and it doesn't feel great. and it has some generic parts (the indicators). (and pickerings used that exact same chime in the 90s). I really hope Pickerings don't go bankrupt, as they were such a great company, and today they are one of the few small independent non generic companies left. I really want Pickerings to do well, as I know they used to do better than this, and there are enough crap generic companies about already. What Pickerings need to do is to stop using cheap crappy things on their lifts, like that horrid voice. (There is no profit to be made in the cheap end of the market. Brought in generic parts are SO cheap, thats why almost all lift companies use them, and they suck. Go for the mid end of the market). What Pickerings need to do is to get their own unique style. Look at how Kone ecodisc and Mitsubishi use their own styling, chimes, and designs that make their lift stand out. http://beno.org.uk
