Trains in Älvsbyn - Summer Evening 2026

Filmed on the evenings of June 22 and July 3, 2026, in Älvsbyn, along the Main Line through Upper Norrland. Over these two summer evenings, you can follow the freight traffic between approximately 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Highlights of the video include the passing of Railcare’s weed-control train and a Hector Rail train traveling from Murjek to Piteå, sounding its horn and flashing its lights in an American style—the first time we’ve captured this on film in Sweden! The first evening was very windy, whereas the second was considerably more pleasant and calm. Most of the trains featured in the video are Real Rail intermodal freight trains running from the terminal in Gammelstad, outside Luleå, to destinations including Falköping and Helsingborg.
