Once upon a time, every Ukrainian family knew these dishes. They were cooked in villages, taken to the fields, served on holidays and weekdays. Today, most of them have almost completely disappeared from our table. In this video, we will return to the Ukrainian village of the 19th century and remember 10 forgotten dishes that fed our ancestors. Putrya, kulish, teterya, lemeshka, zhury, mochanka, kvasha, grechanyki, yushka with nettle and zatirka - each of these dishes has its own history and shows how Ukrainians lived without supermarkets, convenience foods and modern cuisine. Some of these dishes were food for the poor, others were served on holidays, and some helped to survive the most difficult months of the year.
