Today we'll be talking about Hantaviruses, a group of pathogens that stand out for being highly dangerous, underestimated, and widespread throughout the world. In this video, we'll explain the pathophysiological mechanisms behind the main Hantavirus diseases (Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome and Hantavirus Cardiopulmonary Syndrome), see how they affect the human body and how lethal they can be, and also explain why, in general, they don't pose a major concern for the stability of our societies, unlike other pathogens. Furthermore, I'll try to present a comprehensive overview of these pathogens, looking at the different species found around the world, such as the Sinnombre virus, Andesvirus, and the Dobrava or Haantaan virus.
