IQAir Atem Earth vs HealthPro Plus – Which Filters Better?

IQAir Atem Earth vs HealthPro Plus – Which Filters Better? 👉🏆BEST AIR PURIFIERS 2026 for ALLERGIES, ASTHMA and DUST RANKINGS: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/... Some folks want to know about the IQair HealthPro Plus and recently released Atem Earth units: I like the IQAir HealthPro Plus better than the Atem Earth in a few areas. Here are my initial thoughts on the 2 units based on a little bit of research: #1) INTERNAL SEAL: The seal between the filters and the inside of the unit on the HealthPro Plus is VERY GOOD! The seal between the filters and the inside of the Atem Earth is kinda sketchy... IDK how well the seal actually is - it looks to me like there could be some human error involved. The HEPA material doesn’t possess housing like most all other HEPA filters on the market. so, I am not currently totally comfortable with the setup. Either way, if I had to choose between the internal seals of the 2 units - I’d choose the HealthPro Plus. They have a video showing how you seal the HEPA inside the Atem Earth and I’ll leave a link to that below if you wanna check it out:    • Meet Atem Earth: Filter Replacement   #2) CARBON: The HPP has a lot more carbon than the Atem Earth so it is much, much better for VOCs/chemical and odor filtration. I was actually EXTREMELY disappointed by IQAir at their newest unit having such little carbon. The tiny bit of carbon it possesses enables them to increase their overall CADR and airflow numbers for the unit... and I do understand why they did this from a marketing/sales standpoint... The higher the CADR and Airflow numbers - the more impressed most consumers will tend to be… and they will tend to value the unit more. And that will probably translate into better sales numbers. However, the tiny bit of carbon they added to the unit appears to be almost somewhat of an afterthought, so, I do not view the Atem Earth as a complete air filtration solution. I think they should offer a filter option for the unit which possesses at least 4 lbs. of carbon, as well. It will force the unit to have lower CADR and lower Airflow numbers however, it will be a more complete filtration solution - ya know, especially for wildfire smoke - maybe insecticides, and/or any other chemicals we may be breathing in our environment. #3) EN1822 and 3rd Party Lab Test Results: IQAir shares the 3rd party lab which tested their filters for the HealthPro Plus. And they share the data with the general public... and they also have more EN1822 3rd party lab results from another lab on the HealthPro Plus, as well - with some really nice filtration performance numbers. Now, they say the HEPA filter in the Atem Earth is also EN1822 certified but when I asked them which lab they used and if I could see the official test results... They said, "No"... And they told me that "it was company policy not to share that information". So, they wouldn’t even tell me which lab they used. Hmmmm... if I owned an air purifier manufacturing company and I made an air purifier that filtered amazingly great and I had the 3rd party EN1822 test results to prove it... I'd be hammering everyone over the head with those numbers ALL DAY LONG - EVERY DAY of the WEEK… Right? I mean, the EN1822 numbers were part of their past marketing strategy with the HealthPro Plus. They claimed the HealthPro Plus was the first mass produced consumer air purifier to be EN1822 certified… and they kinda leveraged those test results. As well they should have. If ya done it - it ain’t bragging. So, I don't really like the lack of transparency on this issue with the Atem Earth unit... Why would they share this information on the HPP - with the general public... But not on the Atem Earth unit... If they ain't hiding something? AMIRight? Now, they may have a very good reason for not sharing this information - am I am open minded - but I do not currently know what that reason might be. #4) AIRFLOW and DPCA: The HPP has the filtered air come out sideways (somewhat parallel to the floor) and this tends to put people more in the Direct Path of Clean Air... and I currently prefer this type of airflow arrangement over the filtered air being shot upwards towards the ceiling - like the airflow in the Atem Earth unit. #5) PREFILTER: The HPP has a strong prefilter solution but I don't see one on the Atem Earth... And I don't see that we are able to buy any prefilters for the unit off their website, either... nor did I see mention of a prefilter in their manual, in the past... So, this leads me to believe that the Atem Earth doesn't have a prefilter... And this also kinda shocks me... Again, this will enable them to achieve higher CADR and airflow numbers... and I know they covet that... but, I am currently 100% against an air filtration solution that doesn't use a decent prefilter. .
