It marks the day in 1865 when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that the Civil War had ended and all enslaved people were free. No matter what this country tried to do to hurt black people, we will ALWAYS prevail we will ALWAYS rise and we are RESILIENT. I have never wanted to be anything other than BLACK. BLACK Americans built this country, endured horrendous treatment and we still thrive.
