Journalist Denise Maerker believes that the hours leading up to the start of the international tournament represent the most delicate moment in the negotiations between the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) and the federal government. She explained that, in addition to the formal talks, parallel conversations are taking place with various teachers' union sections to try to reach agreements that will reduce the mobilization. She recalled that in previous conflicts, solutions were found through specific agreements with some sections, particularly the one in Oaxaca, whose capacity for mobilization is crucial. She noted that the CNTE's main demand, related to the pension system, is unlikely to be resolved in the short term, so the negotiations could focus on other benefits. Maerker emphasized that large-scale international events often become platforms for social groups seeking to raise awareness of their demands. In that sense, she considered it natural that various organizations would try to take advantage of global media attention to pressure authorities and place their causes in the public discourse.
