The Shining (1980) Comparison: US vs Non-US version

This is a comparison video comparing the 2 different versions of Stanley Kubrick's horror masterpiece The Shining. I own nothing of the images shown. The source of the images is movie-censorship.com and the rights to the images belong to Warner Bros. Entertainment, Inc. Background: Director Stanley Kubrick didn't like the unpredictable box office results and poor reception the film was getting at the time, so he decided to cut 29 minutes off the 144-minute version to make a 115-minute version for the release outside of the US, which is now only for Europe, but it once was every other non-US country, too. Changes: 1. The last line of Wendy and Danny's conversation, along with a huge part of the interview, is cut. 2. The whole scene with the doctor examining Danny after Danny's first blackout it cut, along with Wendy's conversation with her after. 3, 4, 5 and 6 are slightly cut parts during the tour scene. 7. The first shot with Wendy wheeling the trolley through the hotel is cut. 8. The scene with Jack in bed with breakfast is shorter. 9. Jack's scene where he is throwing the ball is partially cut, as well as the first shot of Wendy and Danny racing each other to the hedge maze. 10. The scene with Wendy in the kitchen has been cut. 11. The THURSDAY title card, as well as parts of the shots before and after, have been cut. 12. The 1st scene with Wendy and Danny watching TV is cut. 13. A part of Jack and Lloyd's scene is cut. 14. A line Jack and Wendy's post-room 237 scene conversation is cut out. 15. The scene with Wendy talking to herself and being interrupted by Danny in his bed has been cut. 16. The part of the shot where Jack pulls out 2 other radio batteries before moving on, as well as the whole scene after, which includes the 8am title card after that, has been cut. 17. A massive part where Hallorann asks the stewardess when they will land, and after landing, calls Larry Durkin of Durkin's Garage, has been cut along with the shot of Jack that happens during that scene. 18. The 2nd part where Danny and Wendy are watching TV has been cut. 19. The scene where Wendy runs into skeletons in the Gold Room has been cut.
