Beni Sumer Yanthan (Yanbeni) is a writer, poet and folklorist currently working as Assistant Professor of English and Cultural Studies at the Centre for Naga Tribal Language Studies, Nagaland University. Her work encapsulating both academic papers and non-academic essays, fiction and poetry has been published in many national and international forums and publications, and also translated into Tamil. Besides this, she is also co-editor of the book, Critical Conversations in Naga Society, a book that aims to make academic dialogue much more accessible to the Naga public and co-editor of the Anglo-Lotha dictionary.    Last but not least, she is also a full-time Gooner.
