Andalucía Directo | El "rey del mango" es de Motril

On Andalucía Directo, we talk about mangoes, but not just any mangoes. These are "from heaven." That's what Valeriano calls his business, whose products are exported throughout Europe. He sells around 100,000 kilos a year, mostly online. Valeriano Ferreira has been running a farm in Motril for several years, a place he considers his own personal paradise and calls "Heaven." And that's also the name of his website, Mangos del Cielo (Mangoes from Heaven), from where he exports mangoes all over Europe. This year, Valeriano expects a very good Spanish mango season, with 30% more production than in 2017. His farm produces around 150,000 kilos per season. The main customers for this fruit are in Northern Europe, although interestingly, in France, they prefer the "mini" mango variety.
