When composing a work, if you cram in too much of what you want to convey or show, it can actually make it harder to convey the worldview of the photograph. When reviewing artwork for art exhibitions, I often encounter pieces where too many elements are added, obscuring what the artist truly wants to convey. The important thing is not just to consider what to add, but also what to remove.
