Vlog #220: Magnolia & Bridal Project

About the blooming magnolias, and this April's bridal project. We usually have one day of Bridal Project distribution, when I invite all Recommenders of cases to bring along the underpriviledged family they recommended earlier. This time I met Farzana, a mother-of-the-bride who is an example for everyone. Such a brave soul. You will see her expressing her views on how to handle adversities. How she has chosen to face all the hardships she has faced. Fourteen years ago her husband became paralyzed. Till today she personally takes care of him. She chose to face the situation by earning through stitching clothes for others. Through this, she has bought their house, married off six children, and continues to work. It is her spirit which is so admirable. I love to help such brave souls. We look out for such cases of persons, who avoid begging, or asking for help. Only a close associate knows what she is facing. That person brings her case to my attention. I'd be glad to help such persons. The zakat and sadqa people trust me with, needs to be used on such folks. We try to help with grace and dignity. We have handed over to 9 families by now. One is still left. I like to help non-Muslim families too. We have sadqa package for them as well. It is through three ways that we help them: 1. The donations in cash sent to us through which we get the dinner sets and kitchen sets. Occasionally, I get some cloth also, to include in suits, or get quilts in winters. 2. Preloved clothes, shoes, and handbags sent to me by my followers and well wishers. 3. Donation of five suits given to us by the the Recommender. 4. Sometimes, someone will donate a fridge, furniture, washing machine or something. So, every month we find deserving cases through our recommenders to give these things on the Distribution day. All this is done through Instagram. Besides this, we also feed the poor daily. Pick a random case to help also. Meanwhile the spring continues to make our lives more beautiful. The weather in Islamabad is absolutely wonderful.
