A new model has been released for the iconic, powerful SM7B microphone. The SM7dB has a built-in preamp, fundamentally addressing concerns that the sound was too quiet and that it was difficult to set up properly. It's more expensive, so if you're already using the SM7B+ preamp, should you switch? Other than the fact that you'll have one less piece of equipment and the rear switch is easier to use, I wouldn't strongly recommend it. However, for those looking to buy one, this is the only choice. It's such an excellent microphone that it's a great choice.
