Ibanez SR305 Pickup/Preamp Upgrade with Seymour Duncan Basslines and EMG BQS Active Preamp
In this video, I showcase a major upgrade to my beloved Ibanez SR305. I replaced the stock pickups and electronics with Seymour Duncan Bassline Active Pickups and an EMG BQS Preamp. My bass was recorded through my Mesa Subway D800 (everything set flat) through the Mesa Traditional Powerhouse 2x10 (Tweeter set to normal) with a CAD TSM411 mic blended with the DI Out of the subway right into Logic with no post processing of any kind. The Basslines came out sounding much lower in output than the video shows for some reason (possibly poor mic placement) but they are much higher in output than the stock pickups. Skip ahead to 4:22 for the comparisons The riff I played is the bassline to the song Hilltop Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Let me know if you have any questions in the comments section. Thanks for watching!
