Alex Yong – RSK as a linear operator

Speaker: Alex Yong (University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign) Title: RSK as a linear operator Abstract: The Robinson–Schensted–Knuth correspondence (RSK) is a bijection between nonnegative integer matrices and pairs of Young tableaux. Viewing RSK as a linear operator on the coordinate ring of matrices leads to questions about its eigenvalues and diagonalizability. We give a diagonalizability criterion involving the ADE Dynkin diagrams and E_9. This is joint work with Ada Stelzer.
