Often, looking back on the path we've taken, we may experience doubt, bitterness, and guilt. These thoughts assault our minds, and soon we find ourselves completely depressed and distant from God. Some might argue that they've indeed committed some very bad deeds in their lives, and self-condemnation is justified. But not for those who have encountered Jesus and been welcomed into God's family! In this program, I want to share with you how to cast off the burden of the past forever and begin to rejoice in the Holy Spirit. The Bible teaches us that every day is a gift from the Lord; it is a new chance, a new opportunity. God's grace is renewed so that we can move toward Him, no matter what. By doing so, we activate our faith and can boldly seize the opportunities that await us in the future. Perhaps, like me, the enemy often reminds you of past sins and mistakes, making you feel unworthy of God's grace. In these moments, you need to speak up and act like the Apostle Paul. Consider what he writes: "...forgetting those things which lie behind and straining forward to those things which lie ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:13-14). You are not alone in this pursuit: the Holy Spirit is your Guide. He wants to reveal to you not only the future, giving you hope, but also to free you from the burden of the past. He is the primary Driving Force and Initiator of change. Make a decision to fully trust in the Holy Spirit and clothe yourself in the joy of salvation every day!
