Model Railroad Update 68: "Fun" with Fascia
For some reason we decided to work on the fascia this week. And it took at LOT longer than anticipated. It really should have gone up a bit earlier, as we now have to do a fair amount of work to bring the scenery out to the fascia, in some areas of the layout. We also should have planned a little better so we could have used gentle curves to the fascia as opposed to the angular cuts we have now. Oh well...we were able to use curves in a few areas. Once we get the fascia joints all smoothed out and sanded, and the scenery brought out, it will be ready for paint. Then something to hang below to cover the underside of the layout, and give a nice finished look to the layout. We went with a air brad nailer to install, except for some heavier screws in the area with a curve for better holding. We figured we can always add screws later on if the brads and Liquid Nails don't hold up over time. Thank you for watching.
