Dragons BEFORE the Doom of Valyria were Titans compared to Balerion

Sit tight and keep your cloak drawn—these stones remember winter. Tonight we’re talking dragons, but not the ones the singers know. Long before Balerion blackened the sky over Oldtown, Valyria played host to so many shapes of wing and scale that a single word—dragon—barely covers them. Seven great breeds ruled that air: some big enough to cast a city in shadow, others quick as gulls along the surf. The Doom burned most names away, but scraps of memory drifted west with House Targaryen. I’ve spent a lifetime piecing those scraps together. What follows is half scholarship, half camp-story—but it’s the best tale we have. Imagine a fortress fused to a pair of wings. That’s a Colossus. Their scales looked like fresh-cooled glass veined with fire, and their hearts beat so slowly the ground shook when they took off. They liked cool dawn air; midday heat thinned the lift under those mammoth pinions. #fanfiction #gameofthrones #houseofthedragon
