Paint Southwest Broken Pots (Acrylic Still Life) | Jerry Yarnell FULL LESSON PBS TV
Learn how to paint a Southwest-inspired still life featuring old broken pottery with Indian-style designs, buried in sand and weeds—all in acrylics. In this FULL LESSON from the Jerry Yarnell Inspiration of Painting PBS television art instructional beginner acrylic painting video series tutorial, Jerry shows a fun (and surprisingly practical) approach: create a muted, colorful background with gesso + multiple colors, then sketch and block in the pots, build realistic form with highlights/shadows, add cracks and chips, and finish with windswept sand and loose desert flowers and weeds. Even if you “don’t paint pots,” this is a strong skills lesson in: control + patience round form (light-to-dark blending) texture (scumbling/dry brush) simple geometric designs that follow form 🎨 This video is from the Jerry Yarnell Inspiration of Painting PBS television art instructional video series (8893 Broken Pots).
