伊吹山の自然とイヌワシ No.7　2024年5月21日

We entered the gate at 8 a.m. and arrived at the parking lot, but it was so foggy we couldn't see anything. It can get foggy on clear mornings. The wind was from the north, so I assumed most birds were flying over the north slope, but I didn't want to waste time waiting, so I went down the driveway a little to observe the south side. As the fog started to lift a little, I switched to observing the north slope and saw a golden eagle flying through the fog with its fawn dangling from it. Two bear cubs (separate individuals) appeared that day, and we were able to observe many of them. It was mating season, so two cuckoos were flying around in pairs.
